What we check before submission
The record should identify both spouses clearly and match their current passports. Older certificates, religious records and civil extracts may need a fresh copy or an additional civil registration record. Previous marriages can add divorce judgments or death certificates to the chain.
- Names, dates and places against both passports
- Civil registration status and document format
- Apostille or embassy legalisation route
- Certified translation and the order of each stamp
Built for a wider family file
We don't treat the marriage certificate as a stand-alone courier job. It sits beside police clearances, birth records and proof of funds in the main application. That context matters when the same spelling or status must appear throughout. See birth certificate attestation for dependent children or review the residence programmes we cover.
