The route depends on the issuer
An eligible UAE-issued digital document can follow the ministry's digital path. A foreign document generally needs the required authentication in its country of issue before the UAE stage. The ministry's system decides whether an eligible file is completed digitally or through an approved courier. Commercial invoices and certificates of origin use the separate eDAS service.
- Original digital PDF with a working verification feature
- Arabic or English original, or a certified translation
- Unlaminated paper original when courier handling is required
- Matching names and document numbers across the application
What BGC coordinates
We map the steps, check the copy and arrange partner handling where available. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains the issuing authority. Official service windows are not the same as the total time needed for earlier stamps, translation and international delivery. Read the UAE MoFA attestation service page before submitting an original.
Commercial document attestation uses a different lane
Commercial invoices and certificates of origin go through eDAS 2.0 rather than the personal-document workflow. MoFA lists a two-minute digital completion target and an AED 150 fee per invoice or certificate of origin for registered businesses. Those figures cover the eDAS transaction, not translation, earlier authentication or BGC coordination. Check the official eDAS service page on the filing date.
